January 2009 Update

Hello Supporters of the Cause!

Well, the last nine months have been some of the most challenging I've experienced.  I have developed an unexpected side effect of last year's journey... Arthritis!  Just when I think things are good and I'm up on my feet again, I'm down again!  God knows the frustration is paining me!  I'm sorry... I don't mean to vent... but I've so much work to do, I simply can't afford these kinds of break downs.

I tell you what I could really use... Volunteers!  I had planned on doing another push this year, but I have been forced to accept my physical condition... although I do NOT accept that it will prevent me from finishing my goals in Savannah GA!  I have not forgotten Savannah.  I will stop at nothing to build this center... lol... I don't care if I have to do it from a bed side somewhere!  It will be done... it must be done.

I sometimes grieve at the fact that I had so much support when I was pushing and now after the push is over, people have stopped pushing!  We have programmed our minds to pay attention to certain causes during certain times of the year and yet everyday we are losing lives in this battle of abuse and neglect.  Ughhhh....

I have decided to give myself a little more time and have pushed the Sweet Tea Jamboree and The Human Race to April 2010!  The Auction, Unfortunately a few people took advantage of me during this process and even more tried to... as a result, I have been more cautions who I engage myself with.  This caused set backs for the Auction.  I have since postponed the Children's Auction Date to April 2010 As part of the opening day kick off events for the Sweet Tea Jamboree.  Plans are in the making and I could really use some DEDICATED Volunteers to help push the project through.

Please do not forget the cause here... Men, Women and Children are struggling in victim mode... we can make a difference in helping them become Victim Free!  In doing this, we organically prevent the perpetuation of the cycle of abuse!  Join hands and lets make a BIGGER IMPACT on the lives of those whose voice has been suppressed.

Peace and blessings to you all...
Ms. Rachel E. Milano
